Put Kate Upton on your magazine cover and you’re going to sell a lot of magazines, iOS game developer Machine Zone hopes that strategy pays off for their Game of War iOS strategy game as they have Upton staring in their latest ad campaign as you can see by the video above of the SI Swimsuit Model.
The Game of War ad starting Upton first aired during NFL Thursday Night Football in November and played more than 200 times in the first week. With $40 million to spend on marketing their mobile strategy game, we can be assured we’ll be seeing a lot of Kate Upton on our televisions.
The strategy is already paying off for Machine Zone as Kate Upton’s popularity and sexy advertisements prompted over 62,000 searches for Game of War in the first couple of days after the ads first appeared on television. This has pushed Game of War to currently the second highest grossing iOS app on the Apple App Store already topping heavyweights such as Candy Crush and Kim Kardashian’s self named Hollywood game.
It’s been quite the year for Upton as she’s been in the news or the tabloids for various reasons all year long. She was the back cover girl for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. It was the third year in a row that Upton was on the cover of the swimsuit issue and she’ll likely to be featured heavily when the ubiquitous swim wear fashion magazine hits the news stands in February 2015.
Upton was also a victim of the celebrity iCloud hack attack that a certain segment of the internet is calling the Fappening as a long list of sexy celebrities had their iCloud accounts hacked and their personal photos leaked to the internet.
Upton’s photos were of her and Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, her current beau. Verlander may have had his worst year on the mound in 2014 but clearly, he’s winning the game of life off the mound with Kate Upton by his side.
